Once More With Feeling
once more with feeling thinks through repetition, comfort, relaxation, rest and stimming (self-stimulatory repetitive body movement/noises), grounded in a longing for futures free of the ableism synonymous with capitalism.
Emelia Kerr Beale is a Glasgow-based artist whose works attempts to process the complexities of illness and create moments where pain/pleasure/anxiety/joy can co-exist. Through the use of motifs and text, Emelia considers how repetition and imagination can be coping mechanisms. Their work is underpinned by queer theory and feminist disability studies, as well as lived experience. Find them on instagram @emelia.co.uk
once more with feeling is one of eight new zines commissioned by Out of the Blueprint for #PrintExpo22, sustainably riso printed at our studio in Leith using rice ink on recycled paper.
