homestead is an exhibition of new work by illustrator Lauren Cory exploring themes of identity, change and belonging.

inspired by retro video game graphics, Lauren uses repetitive motifs and patterns with a deliberate care and attention to detail that harks back to more traditional domestic textiles like tapestries, rugs and cross-stitch samplers.

framed with delicate pixel designs, Lauren’s hand-drawn pastel landscapes blend the cosy, nostalgic comfort of home with the sense of something bigger on the horizon.

The people manufacturing the garments are treated well and paid fairly. This is guaranteed through The Fair Ware Foundation, an independent non-profit organisation that has been set up specifically to improve working conditions in the garment industry.
